Virtual production design and engineering in TouchDesigner and Unreal Engine for a five-minute short about the growing issue of space junk.
I designed and implemented a real-time point cloud visualization of space junk, calculated with open-source position and velocity data. I streamed this from TouchDesigner to Unreal Engine 4 as video data, where it was mapped on the virtual set seen in the videos below. Our actor, professor Moriba Jah, was able to see and react to the video directly as a result.
